What is Green Oil?

We use re-refined oils that go through a purification and refining process to eliminate impurities, contaminants, and degraded compounds. The result is an oil with characteristics similar to or even better than new oil, as it has higher viscosity, ensuring longer equipment life.

What is an Automotive Lubricant?


An automotive lubricant, commonly known as motor oil, is a liquid used to reduce friction between the moving parts of a vehicle’s engine. Its main function is to protect the internal parts of the engine, helping them move smoothly without wear or damage. Additionally, the lubricant also helps cool the engine, clean impurities, and prevent corrosion. In summary, the lubricant is like a liquid "shield" that keeps the engine running efficiently and durably.

Multigrade: Maintain viscosity across a wide temperature range, protecting the engine during both cold starts and high temperatures. Examples: 0W30, 10W30, 15W40, 20W50.

Monograde: Have a single viscosity grade, ideal for seasonal temperature changes. Examples: SAE40, SAE50.

Hydraulic: Used in hydraulic systems to transfer energy while also providing lubrication, sealing, and contaminant removal functions. Examples: 32, 46, 68, 150.

API Base Oil Classification


Base oils are classified by the American Petroleum Institute (API) into 5 groups, depending on their origin and refining process:

  • Groups I to III: Basic mineral oils.
  • Group IV: Synthetic oils.
  • Group V: Oils from non-conventional sources.

CERTIFICATIONS


  • - API (American Petroleum Institute): Certifies that oils meeting SAE 0W-XX, 5W-XX, and 10W-XX grades can offer fuel economy and may display this on their labels.

  • - SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers): Organization that sets standards for the automotive industry and other vehicles such as airplanes and ships, focused on engineering and mobility.
  • - ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers Association): Sets standards to ensure the proper function and durability of engines in Europe.

  • - JASO (Japanese Automotive Standards Organization): Japanese standard for oils, created because API oils did not meet the needs of modern motorcycle engines.
